Purdue Current Season


PURDUE THEATRE HIGH SCHOOL DAY

Saturday, October 1, 2011

10:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Followed by a 2:30 p.m. performance of The Miracle Worker

Cost for workshop, lunch and matinee is $10 for high school students and sponsors

Workshops will be held in Yue-Kong Pao Hall of Visual and Performing Arts

Valparaiso Season


Merit Scholarships

  • Awarded amount: $1000
  • Awarded to freshmen majoring in Theatre
  • Based on audition in person (preferred) or by video

Renewal

  • Maintain a B (3.0) grade point average in Theatre classes
  • Continue as a Theatre first or second major

Audition procedure -- See website for updated deadline dates!

  1. Apply and be admitted to Valparaiso University prior to audition
  2. Auditions/interviews will be held in February. Return a completed registration form to the Department of Theatre by January.

Audition Requirements

  1. Bring to the audition (or send in advance): A letter of recommendation from a high school teacher who is familiar with your work in theatre and a resume or portfolio of your theatre participation  
  2. Prepare two contrasting monologues of 1-2 minutes each or one monologue and a song. Dance numbers are welcome but not required.
  3. Prospective students interested in design, technical production and directing will be interviewed only, but should bring materials documenting your work.

**Please provide your own musical accompanist.
